The Museum of Refugee Hellenism at the OPAP Arena, in Nea Philadelphia, was inaugurated on Saturday afternoon with great pomp and in an atmosphere of emotion and nostalgia.
The reunion with the history of the refugee Hellenism of Asia Minor is now a fact. In a space of 1,000 square meters, it covers all of Asia Minor Hellenism, with relics that recall memories of the Forgotten Lands.
The exhibits were collected and preserved in a scientific way, in order to tell memories and stories from places where in some other times the Greeks prospered with their toil and spirit, before they were forcibly expelled from their lands and their lives.
Greece has acquired the first museum covering all the regions of Asia Minor, from Pontus and central Anatolia to the Asia Minor coast and eastern Thrace. A museum for all refugee Hellenism, which was absent from the country.
The visitor's tour begins with exhibits of the last phase of the presence of Hellenism in Asia Minor. Gradually, the period of the Genocide and persecution, the uprooting and exchange follows.
Our company's Flexible Mannequins were chosen by the museum's creative team to showcase the costumes of the refugees.
